Dr. Mitchell, aka “Dr. J”, aka “Dr. Helga” has known she wanted to be a doctor since she was 2 years old! She is passionate about sharing Chiropractic with everyone: from newborn babies to grandparents, from pregnant mommas to devoted daddies, from Olympic athletes to weekend warriors…she sees them all! Dr. Mitchell loves to laugh and you will have so much fun at your appointments, you’ll forget you’re at the doctor!
She found her true calling in Chiropractic while she was working as a paralegal after an auto accident. She attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida, where she graduated Salutatorian with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude). While still in school, Dr. Mitchell’s love for helping babies, youngsters, and pregnant women led her to begin pursuing a Diplomate in Pediatrics. She is certified in Webster’s Technique, a technique designed to alleviate sacrum misalignment which is quite effective on pregnant women.
Dr. Mitchell took almost every elective offered in school so that she could have as many tools in her tool belt as possible to help as many people as possible upon graduation. She has taken additional classes such as Activator, Cox Flexion-Distraction Technique, Graston Soft Tissue Technique, Athletic Injuries and Performance, Thompson Drop, Nutrition Response Testing, Meridian Autonomic Testing, Functional Blood Work Analysis, and many more!
Dr. Mitchell possesses a voracious appetite for learning and an unrelenting desire to help people. When she’s not at the office, you may find her learning in seminars, coaching kids, or volunteering at church. She also enjoys going to the beach and the gym with friends. She is currently trying to decide what her next Diplomate should be: Nutrition, Sports, Neurology…she won’t be satisfied until she learns it all!
